Andrew Ibrahim has a keen eye for the patterns and intricacies of subcultures within cultures. It's no wonder, as he comes from a Coptic Egyptian background and grew up in a mostly white suburb.
His fascination with cultures led him to study religion and anthropology as an undergraduate at Case, where he could explore how individuals navigate these invisible borders. It is only natural that the pre-med junior is intrigued by the field of narrative medicine, focusing on the ways that doctors and patients communicate with each other.
Andrew is now spending his junior year abroad studying at the University College of London. "It is in the these last months," he says, "that I am finding the subtle differences in living here and realizing them to be the most visceral and valuable lessons of my time abroad."
