Biography:
Faculty at Case have always been extremely helpful and dedicated. My first research position resulted from getting to know my freshman chemistry professor, Dr. Cather Simpson.
Why did you choose to attend Case?:
When I drove onto campus and walked towards the admissions office, I had a feeling of amazement; I knew by the end of my tour that I wanted to go to Case. Not only did it have one of the top-ranked medical schools in the country, it also had a great living and learning atmosphere with a vibrant student population, not to mention one of the fastest internet connections in the world, a completely wireless campus, amazing residence halls, a great history and a great location in University Circle. When I visited other schools, there was simply no contest.
What do you like best about Case?:
Case has provided me with a comforting yet intellectually stimulating atmosphere that has fostered my development into adulthood. Case is by no means a cutthroat environment; instead, students help each other and collaborate in an effort to achieve their goals. The helpfulness and availability of faculty, staff and the administration helps make each student’s college experience the best that it can be.
Describe the best professor you've had at Case. What made him or her special?:
I have gotten to know many of my professors and university administrators, which has led to everything from enjoying a relaxing afternoon BBQ with friends to getting involved in cutting-edge cancer research. Faculty at Case have always been extremely helpful and dedicated. My first research position resulted from getting to know my freshman chemistry professor, Dr. Cather Simpson.
What do you plan to do after graduation, and how has Case helped you reach that goal?:
I hope to continue my education in medical school. Because of my great research experience, I am now seriously considering doing an M.D./Ph.D. program. I hope to someday become an oncologist and use the exceptional medical and oncology background that Case has given me as an undergraduate to save lives.
