Biography:
I’m from a suburb right outside of Cleveland and am interested in languages, reading and religions. I love reading about the environment and food (I'm a vegetarian) and traveling and experiencing how others live.
Why did you choose to attend Case?:
Academically, it's a fantastic school. It has so much to offer its students no matter who you are and what your interests are.
What do you like best about Case?:
Case students are very involved and aware of global issues, and they take a stand for their beliefs. Case really encourages students to be active, offers great resources and has fantastic connections. I also like that Case students are very open to and accepting of diversity.
What do you do for fun on the weekends?:
My favorite Case memory so far is really just everything I’ve done with the great friends I've made here: University Programming Board’s New York City trip, Greek Week, Orientation or just spending an evening by the lagoon next to the art museum.
Describe the best professor you've had at Case. What made him or her special?:
Professors actually want (and like) having students come to their office hours. I have gotten to know many of my professors by going to their office hours or just talking to them on the sidewalk. Specifically, my SAGES [Case’s common curriculum] professor from last semester was really great and she sometimes comes to the restaurant where I work to get dinner with her friends. She introduces me to her friends and we talk—it’s just really nice to make a connection with a professor. Besides, you may need a recommendation letter sooner or later, and you never know who'll be looking for a research assistant!
What do you plan to do after graduation, and how has Case helped you reach that goal?:
I would like to go to graduate school to get a higher degree in either public health or environmental/resource use education and planning, with the career goal of doing ethnographic work or program implementation in developing countries.
