Biography:
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. My main interests are singing, dancing and reading.
Why did you choose to attend Case?:
When I was searching for my ideal campus, one of the requirements was for the institution to be well-rounded. Case stood out in my eyes after researching rankings and again after visiting the campus. University Circle has bits and pieces of what I love about my hometown, such as the orchestra; thus, it felt natural to spend four years of my life in a place that was so similar to “home, sweet home.”
What do you like best about Case?:
Opportunities. I cannot stress it enough. Case has offered me opportunities to grow in leadership and experiences to reinforce my knowledge in my disciplines. It feels good at the end of the day to know you have made an impact in someone’s life, regardless of the magnitude. Case has a strong sense of community and strives for each and every student to achieve their best. It is a privilege to be a part of it.
What do you do for fun on the weekends?:
My favorite Case memory is attending the Cleveland Orchestra’s 75th Anniversary Gala at Severance Hall. I dressed up with my friends and mingled with local Cleveland “celebrities” before enjoying my first and, in my opinion, best orchestra performance I have heard in years. My friends and I now try to attend the concerts on a monthly basis.
Describe the best professor you've had at Case. What made him or her special?:
Through the sociology course (SOCI311) I have gotten to know professor Jane Brown and her involvement in research in elderly care. She was able to connect with her students outside of class and share her insight into the healthcare system and the boundaries it faces today.
What do you plan to do after graduation, and how has Case helped you reach that goal?:
I plan to pursue my master’s in public health and my R.D. (Registered Dietitian), either here at Case or at institutions on the East Coast. After that, I will pursue my M.D. and focus on family practice or do research in genetics.
