Biography:
I grew up in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin before coming to Case. I really enjoy music and intramural athletics, as well as Greek Life here at Case. I hope to go to grad school after my time here, although I'm not sure where I want to go, or even what I want to study!
Why did you choose to attend Case?:
I visited Case and stayed with the Delts, and had an awesome time! My campus visit really made all the difference.
What do you like best about Case?:
There really is a lot to do here. I like to keep busy, and to have a huge list of things to get done - when I do, it makes me feel like I've really accomplished something that day. But when I want to relax, I can do so just as easily. Being at Case really facilitates your own goals and interests.
What's it like to live in Cleveland?:
I've lived in big cities before, but none so large as Cleveland. I was able to work downtown for a while, as well as volunteer on the east side of town at the Free Clinic, and I love the West Side Market too. Cleveland is great on a warm day, because you can throw on some shoes, grab an all-day bus pass, and see everything the city has to offer.
What has been your biggest challenge as a student at Case?:
My biggest challenge here was to learn how to study. My high school, though a good experience, didn't really require me to study nearly as hard as I would have to at school - Case or otherwise. I had to learn, and learn fast, to stay on top of my grades.
What do you do for fun on the weekends?:
It really depends on the season. I can have a lot of fun with a movie marathon, a trip out of the state, or just some rest and relaxation. Of course, there are parties every weekend too, if the interest is there.
Describe the best professor you've had at Case. What made him or her special?:
My best professor was Dr. Martine Lussier, an economics professor. I actually took two of her classes in the same semester, and she is definitely the nicest professor I have met here. She even made sure that I was okay when I had two of her tests in the same day - she made it a point to be accomodating whenever possible. On top of all that, she made it really easy to learn!
What do you plan to do after graduation, and how has Case helped you reach that goal?:
I want to attend grad school, and maybe even pursue a dual degree program, but I'm not sure where I'll go or what I'll study. One option would be to stay here and graduate a year early - in that event, Case will have helped me begin my career a year before my peers!
