UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION

Home-Schooled Student Admission

Case welcomes applications from students who have been home schooled for all or part of their elementary and secondary education. Home-schooled students will enjoy Case’s 9:1 student‑to-faculty ratio—one of the best in the nation. Seventy-two percent of undergraduate classes have fewer than 30 students and 59 percent have fewer than 20 students. This allows for close interaction with faculty and for a rich, intimate learning environment

Application Requirements
Home-schooled applicants must meet specific application requirements to be considered for admission to Case. Review the items below, and visit our Apply page for details on applying to Case via the Common Application.

Testing: We require the ACT or SAT reasoning test and highly recommend three SAT subject tests.

Transcript: A transcript is required if you have taken any high school or college classes or if you are pursuing a self-study curriculum supervised by outside instructors who provide feedback or grades. If no transcript is available, you must provide a detailed syllabus of topics studied and books used.

Interview: An on-campus interview with an admission counselor is required. Coming to campus for a tour, to sit in on a class, and to meet faculty and students is the best way to evaluate Case’s offerings and environment. To schedule an interview or tour or to register for an admission event, click here.

Letters of Recommendation: Although these are optional, you are encouraged to submit at least two letters from outside instructors or employers.

Ability-to-Benefit Test
If an applicant does not earn a high school diploma, he or she must pass one of the Ability-to-Benefit tests to be eligible for federal financial assistance. For further information, contact the U.S. Department of Education.

Scholarships
Home-schooled applicants are eligible for merit scholarship consideration. We review their credentials on a case-by-case basis.
