Applying to Case

Once you have made the decision to apply, getting started couldn't be easier.
- Review Case's application plans and make a note of the deadlines for your chosen plan.
- Complete and submit the Common Application. There is no application fee for applications submitted online. Applications submitted through the mail require a $35 application fee payable by check.
- Complete and submit the Case supplement to the Common Application. If you are submitting the Common App online, it is necessary that you also complete Case's supplement online. Once you begin your application, add Case to your list of My Colleges, (be sure to click Save) and our supplement will be available to you under the Supplements tab.
- Have either your SAT or ACT with Writing scores submitted to Case Western Reserve University via the respective testing agency. Case's SAT code is 1105. Our ACT code is 3244. Case does not require SAT II (subject) test scores, but you may send them if you feel they strengthen your application.
- Ask your guidance counselor to submit to Case an official high school transcript as well as a secondary school report, including the counselor recommendation. All supplemental forms can be downloaded via the Common Application and should be mailed to:
Office of Undergraduate Admission
Attn: Application Processing
Case Western Reserve University
10900 Euclid Avenue
Cleveland, OH 44106-7055
- In addition to the counselor recommendation and a teacher recommendation, you can choose to submit one additional recommendation from another teacher or mentor, but this is not required. Three is the maximum amount of recommendations we will accept, including the counselor and teacher recommendations.
Transfer students, international students and home-schooled students should review additional or alternate instructions that may apply to them.
Students who wish to major in music must audition with the Case Western Reserve University Department of Music. Information on scheduling an audition as well as audition dates are available from the Department of Music.
What's next?
Three to four weeks after you submit your application, you will receive a letter acknowledging receipt of your application and containing a Case Network ID and instructions on how to activate it. You'll use the Case Network ID to check the status of your application online and view the materials we've received. Students who have lost or forgotten their Network ID and password can retrieve them using Case's online password tools. |
